Portrait and landscape painter; New York, N.Y. DuMond was born in Rochester, N.Y., in 1865. He studied at the Art Students League from 1884 to 1888 under William Sartain and Carroll Beckwith, and at the Academie Julian in Paris from 1889 to 1891 under Jules Lefebvre, Benjamin Constant and Boulanger. Upon returning to New York, DuMond became an illustrator for HARPER'S WEEKLY and CENTURY magazines from 1885-1892. He was an instructor at the Art Students League from 1892-1...
